This page explains some hidden differences between BizWrench and Goldenseal accounting software.
Goldenseal is a 32-bit app that only runs on older Macs. On Windows, it requires QuickTime (which provides libraries to run Mac code on Windows). BizWrench/BizRatchet is a full 64-bit app that runs on any modern computer. It can handle files larger than 4 gigabytes. Otherwise you won't notice any differences.
Goldenseal stores its data with an object database called NeoAccess. It was buggy, so we rewrote many parts of it before we could ship a stable app. It still was hard to maintain and not 100% reliable.
For BizWrench, we removed the last traces of NeoAccess, so it is entirely TurtleSoft code. It acts the same but it's more reliable, and easier for us to maintain.
